If you’ve been on the hunt for an appetizer for your Halloween get-togethers or are already planning Thanksgiving, TikTok has you covered. This time, it’s with baked brie that looks like a pumpkin.
Turning baked brie into a pumpkin sounds difficult, and it’s understandable that you’d be skeptical. Amanda Starley, a TikTok content creator and founder of Social Spreads, uploaded a tutorial for the pumpkin-shaped brie, and turns out, all you need to create the shape is some twine.
First, Starley lays out a piece of puff pastry and smoothes some almond butter in the center. Next, she places a round of brie on top. She uses a knife to carve out a large circle around the cheese and tears away the excess pastry. She then gathers the dough around the brie, bringing the pieces together a the top. Now, it’s time for the secret of the pumpkin shape: twine.

Starley ties a piece of twine through the center of the covered brie and then repeats this step six times. However, she moves the twine pieces each time so that they form indentations around the pastry. She coats it in an egg white wash and bakes it in the oven at 375 degrees Fahrenheit for 20 minutes.
When it comes out and the twine is removed, Starley adds two sage leaves and a cheese straw to the top. Thanks to the twine and garnishes, the pastry now looks exactly like a pumpkin.
The brie isn’t Starley’s only impressive appetizer, though. The content creator has also crafted prosciutto skulls and eyeball brie. If you want to learn how to craft your own charcuterie creations, you can take classes from Starley (sign-ups are on her website).
If you want to add a new appetizer to your entertaining arsenal, pumpkin-shaped baked brie is a good choice.
