There are a lot of things people look for when buying a home. Open floor plans and good neighborhoods can go a long way. However, there are outdoor features that can increase a home’s value, and they might surprise you.
According to a report between real estate website Zillow and dog-sitting service Rover, outdoor animal-friendly amenities can not only make a house sell for more money, but also make it sell faster.
The report states listings that include dog houses tend to sell for about 3% more than other homes. As for ones with fenced-in back yards, those sold five days sooner than others on the market. The news isn’t so surprising when you look at pet owners’ attitudes toward their animals.

Those looking to sell their homes in the next year might want to consider getting their yards fenced in or popping a dog house out back. Good news: we’ve got some suggestions for you.
