Not all of us have been blessed with a green thumb, but if it’s the holidays, you might be able to harness your power of killing plants. If you’ve got a planter of dead mums, don’t throw them away quite yet.

Last year, Brittany Mitchell went viral after she turned a pot full of dead mums into a gorgeous Christmas display. Her original Facebook post has racked up a whopping 135,000 shares and 5,700 likes.

The only thing this craft requires is a few brightly colored Christmas bulbs and a can of silver spray paint.

For all you fellow mum killers! Look at this 😂🤣We can just turn them dead things into Christmas decor! Who knew lol

To create the sparkling, silver decor, Mitchell waited until it was clear that her mums were completely gone and no new bubs would pop up, she used a single can of spray paint and painted the bush silver. Then, she placed neon-colored Christmas balls throughout and had the perfect planters for her front steps.

Of course, if you love your mums and don’t want them to die, there are other Christmas crafts you can do as the holiday season approaches. Sock snowmen and DIY gift tags are just a few of the easy-to-do crafts that we’ve rounded up for you.

This year, it’s time to get handy with your Christmas decorations—even if you don’t kill your mums.
