These Easy DIY Snow Globes Are Adorable

A person uses a glass jar to create a DIY snowglobe.
As Told By Michelle/Instagram

If you’ve been looking for the perfect, simple DIY to do for the holidays, a recent viral Instagram video might have the answer.

Content creator As Told By Michelle (who just goes by Michelle) has created simple, DIY snow globes that anyone can make.

In her video, Michelle places a large, clear glass jar with a lid onto her countertop. Then, she spoons in faux snow until the jar is roughly a quarter full. Next, she places wired LED string lights on top of the snow, burying the switch in it to conceal it.

After the lights are in place, Michelle adds adorable, multi-colored bottlebrush trees inside the jar to create a cute winter scene perfectly for displaying anywhere in your home.

Michelle’s DIY can be easily customized as well. While she used bottle brush trees in one scene and a home in another, you can also create any sort of winter or holiday scene using miniatures from Christmas village displays or nativities.

Customize your snowglobe with any number of miniatures.

The snow globes aren’t Michelle’s only clever DIY. She also has a cute stovetop potpourri gift idea. Simply fill a mason jar with the ingredients used in common Christmas simmer pots (oranges, cranberries, cinnamon, and spices), add the lid, tie with a bow, and you’ve got a sweet and easy DIY gift.
