Your dog is the most special dog in the world, but do they have the most special name? You can find out.

Dog sitting website Rover used its database of pets to discover the top names from the past year, and some familiar favorites still topped the list. According to the site’s data, Bella is the top name for girls, and Max is the top name for boys. Turns out, they’re the same names that topped the list in 2020.

While many of the top dog names didn’t change, trends did. While the pandemic might have started in 2020, COVID-19 inspired names are still kicking in the dog world. Fauci, Covid, and Zoom were all popular names. As for other major 2021 events, the Olympics also inspired people with names like Suni (for gymnast Suni Lee), Katie (for swimmer Katie Ledecky), and Tom (for diver Tom Daly) were also popular choices.

As usual, pop culture was reflected in dog owners’ naming choices. Armond—a la The White Lotus—made the list as did Aretha Franklin and Doja Cat. The cast of Friends appears to still be one of the most popular places of inspiration with Phoebe Buffay rising by a massive 963%.
