You’ve got Christmas cards that haven’t arrived, and there might just be some cash gifts in some of them. The mail running is pretty important.
But does the mail run on Christmas?
According to the United States Postal Service, the mail will not run on Christmas, Sunday, Dec. 25. In addition to no mail delivery, all postal service locations will be closed. However, that doesn’t mean you might not get a last-minute card or gift. The mail will run on Christmas Eve, Saturday, Dec. 24. Plus, all postal service locations will be open on this day.
Now that you know the post office won’t be making deliveries, what about other services like FedEx or UPS? If you were hoping a gift would appear on Christmas Day, you’ll be out of luck. Neither FedEx nor UPS will be running on Dec. 25. However, UPS will be making final pre-Christmas deliveries on Christmas Eve, Dec. 24.
While you can’t expect mail or deliveries from some of the biggest names in shipping on Christmas Day, if you happen to need a few last minutes items, there will be some stores open. For those who might require a meal, there are also some restaurants open as well.
Like everyone, delivery drivers deserve a well-earned day off work, and it’s time to celebrate the holiday.
