The Biden administration is currently offering four free COVID-19 tests per household, and you’ll soon be able to get three free N95 masks at major health care providers and drugstores.
Starting this week, those who visit community health centers and participating retailers and pharmacies will be able to claim the free N95 masks thanks to an initiative by the Biden Administration.
The rollout is the largest distribution of personal protection equipment in United States history and will see 400 million masks given away for free. The masks are sourced from the Strategic National Stockpile and account for over half of the existing 750 million N95s.
The participating retailers will be the same as those who helped distribute the vaccine, but you can find a list here. You’ll also be able to contact your local health department to check on their stock. You will need to head into stores and providers to claim the masks, though. When searching for the freebie, keep in mind that this week’s rollout is a slow release for the program, but it will be completely up and running by mid-February.
While you’re looking for where to claim your mask, remember that you can now sign up for COVID-19 test distribution as well. Signing up now via the United States Postal Service, and your tests will ship in late January.
Just in case you need a reminder, here’s a handy WHO guide on wearing masks safely.
