When it comes to national treasures, Dolly Parton certainly ranks pretty high. Now, you can bake a cake with the famed singer and philanthropist…kind of.
Parton is teaming up with Duncan Hines to launch her own range of southern-inspired cake mixes this March.
The collection will feature a coconut cake mix, banana cake mix, classic buttercream frosting, and chocolate buttercream frosting. They will all be available in the baking section of major grocery stores and mass retailers and will be affordable. The suggested retail price of the cake mix is $2.19, and the frostings will cost $2.09.
“I have always loved to cook, and growing up in the South, I especially love that authentic Mom and Pop kind of cooking,” said Parton in a press release. “I am excited to launch my own line of cake mixes and frostings with Duncan Hines, bringing that sweet, Southern-style baking experience I enjoy to others.”
This isn’t Parton’s first foray into desserts, though. The singer launched a collection of ice creams with Jeni’s Splendid back in March 2021. The flavors were so popular that Jeni’s just announced the return of Parton’s Strawberry Pretzel Pie ice cream.
