If you’re anything like me, nothing hits the spot quite like an iced coffee. Unfortunately, ice cubes can often water down your brew. The solution is coffee cubes, but there’s one trick that’ll ensure you don’t lose any flavor.

When you make your coffee ice cubes, add the normal amounts of creamer and sweetener you normally take in your cuppa.

You’ve likely seen people online pouring coffee into ice cube trays, freezing them, and then just adding them to a glass to make iced coffee. That’s a fantastic hack, but there’s one tweak that’ll make it better.

Before you make your cubes, make your coffee the same way you would if you were about to drink it. Toss in your creamer and/or sweetener, and then pour it up and freeze it. Why?

Well, if you normally take your iced coffee with milk and/or sugar, adding ice cubes made of black coffee could throw off the flavor by making it less sweet. As the cubes melt, they’ll also reduce some of the creaminess. When you make your cubes the way you usually take your cup of Joe, you’ll be sure to get the flavor you love.

If you’re on a mission to make your own perfect iced coffee, coffee cubes could be just the secret ingredient you’ve been looking for.
