Friday Fun: Watch These Two Chefs Waffle Iron Everything

two chefs work to remove a waffle iron fajita from a Waring waffle iron
ChefSteps

When it comes down to it, a waffle iron is just a clam-shell hot plate with a waffle grid on it. With a bit of an adventuresome streak and no fear of how gnarly the cleanup will be, you can cook a lot of things in it.

At the ChefSteps test kitchen, they armed themselves with one Waring Pro Waffle maker. It’s a fantastic waffle maker I’ve owned for years (albeit having never poured brownie mix or eggs in mine). Waring no longer distributes it, but the exact model (identical save for the nameplate) is available from Cuisinart if you’d like to make some awesome waffles or follow along with the mayhem at home.

Frankly, it’s a shame this appears to be the only video. A series, in the theme of “Will it blend?” but focused on “Will it waffle?” would likely do quite well.
