I’ve Had These Measuring Cups for Six Years, and They’re Still Amazing

A glass measuring cup holds carrots, glass measuring cups sit among pancakes and are filled with milk and syrup, and a measuring cup is filled with milk with carrots in the background.

Even if you’re not the best cook in the world, there are a few kitchen staples every home needs. Measuring cups are one of them. I’ve had the same set of measuring cups for six years, and they’re a subtle addition to your kitchen that’ll make a big difference.

I received the Pyrex Glass Measuring Cups as a wedding present all the way back in 2016. To this day, they’re still sitting pretty, tucked away in my cabinets as sturdy and easy to use as ever.

Now, you’re probably wondering why you need fancy, name-brand glass measuring cups. I get that. I’m no culinary expert (I burned a Poptart in the microwave once). But Pyrex’s measuring cups have a few things that set them apart from the cheap, plastic cups you can purchase at any grocery store.

Bring nostalgia and function into your kitchen.

First, there’s the glass construction. It’s nonporous so it won’t absorb flavors or smells of whatever you’re measuring, and it’s non-toxic and BPA-free. Plus, you won’t need to worry about staining. But when it does come time to clean the cups, they’re dishwasher safe making things simple.

When it comes to function, they’re true winners. The comfortable handles won’t absorb the heat from ingredients, and there’s a handy curved spout on the end for easy pouring that won’t end in messes all over your countertops.

Then, there are the measurements. The ounces and milliliters are outlined in large, bold red font so they’re easy to read as you cook. Plus, all three cups in the set (which measure in one, two, and four cup increments) are microwave and oven-safe.

Whether you’re looking for a housewarming gift, filling out your first apartment, or just need new measuring cups, these Pyrex are perfect.
