Benson Chou has a cute baby, a creative mind, and a knack for photography. Naturally, the only responsible thing to do with that combination is to create 52 movie poster mockups featuring the baby in celebration of their first year.
So how does one go from the simple milestone photo to creating elaborate and adorable photos every week for a year? Benson explains:
It all started with the Buzz Lightyear onesie.
It was a gift. And as a token of appreciation, Michelle and I thought it’d be cool to share a photo of Zoltan in the onesie. Sure.
Then, we thought if we were gonna take a photo anyway, instead of using the floor or our bed, why not set up a clean backdrop to make everything look better? Of course.
And since we were already using a backdrop, we might as well… use ear buds as stars, scarves as planets, drag the thermometer across the canvas like a shooting star and, you know, while we were at it, Photoshop the photo and turn it into a poster.
You can check out the whole collection at PetaPixel, which we absolutely recommend you do. Not only do you get to see all the cute movie poster mockups, but each poster includes a behind the scenes view of the clever props Benson and his wife used to stage the shoots.
