There are a lot of nooks and crannies that are easy to forget when cleaning. If you often keep your blinds closed, you might be surprised to find just how much dirt and dust can get trapped in them. Thankfully, all it takes to clean them is a common kitchen utensil.

You can use tongs to get your blinds dust-free, and this cleaning hack is one that’s not only reliable but also easy.

Now, this hack isn’t new, but if you’ve never used it before, you might wonder why you didn’t think of it before. All you’ll do is grab a pair of kitchen tongs and two strips of microfiber fabric or a regular old bit of washcloth.

Wrap the two sides of the tongs in the fabric and secure them with rubber bands or twist ties. Then, gently clamp onto each individual blind and swipe back and forth until the dust is gone. You’ll get both the top and underside of the blind for a quick and simply clean. Yes, this trick can work for vertical blinds as well.

Make the process quick and easy.

This hack will work at any time, but if you’re now committed to keeping your blinds dust-free, you can also invest in a specific tool for it. You can purchase a hand-held blind cleaner that can get up to five blinds at a time.

But if you’re in a pinch and need a quick solution, tongs will do the trick.
