Orchids are notoriously finicky plants to care for properly, even for experienced gardeners. Ensuring they get the right amount of water is especially tricky.

Luckily there’s one simple tip that can help ensure your orchids receive enough water without the risk of overwatering them.

Orchids do need a lot of water and humidity compared to other houseplants and flowers due to their tropical origins. However, you shouldn’t water them more than once a week unless the weather is very hot. Considering misting them every day, or almost every day, instead.

These hanging baskets are a great way to help keep your orchids' roots strong and healthy.

Gently spraying your orchids with a specialty plant mister on a daily or near daily basis helps to create a moist environment around your orchids that mimics the humid tropical environment they’re accustomed to, without the risk of overwatering your plants.

Just be sure to plant in an orchid pot that allows for proper airflow and breathability, in order to prevent them from rotting and dying.
