When it comes to renovations, there are two key areas in your home you might consider. Of course, the kitchen is the first that comes to mind, but bathrooms are second. When it comes to bathroom renovations, some are more popular than others.

According to Houzz’s 2022 Bathroom Trends Study, bathroom vanities are all the rage, so move over gigantic bathtubs.

To determine the biggest bathroom renovation trends, Houzz surveyed 2,570 subscribers who were over 18, homeowners, and had completed a renovation in the past 12 months. In aggregating the results, the home interior website discovered that a whopping 76% of participants overhauled their vanities as part of their projects.

According to the findings, the customizable nature of the bathroom feature seems to be why it’s such a popular choice. Respondents were able to tailor a vanity’s color, tone, and material to their specific needs making it a unique part of their renovation. However, some trends did emerge from the reporting.

Wood has become a popular choice for vanity cabinet finishes, but color is also a big part of the changes. Gray, blue, black, and green were all cited as popular choices. Specific features were also popular. Soft-close drawers and doors were a must for 73% of respondents, and shaker-style cabinets remain the most popular option.

While you might have thought massive bathtubs or high-tech toilets might have been the top project in bathroom renovations, apparently, you can never underestimate the power of quality (and aesthetically pleasing) storage.
