Turmeric has been all the rage these days. It’s an anti-inflammatory that can improve your memory and even help manage pain. Additionally, it gives curry and mustard their yellow coloring.

You can also use turmeric to brighten your smile.

Yes, you read that right. It may seem counterintuitive, but this popular spice has helped people whiten their teeth.

To try this out, brush your teeth for 2 minutes with toothpaste. Next, dish out a small amount of turmeric powder and brush it on your teeth with a little bit of water. Let the turmeric sit on your teeth for 5 to 10 minutes before brushing your teeth with toothpaste again.

Keep in mind that turmeric stains, so we suggest using a different toothbrush for that part. Be careful not to stain your clothes or nearby items as well.

If the turmeric taste is too strong, you can also mix in mint oil or even buy toothpaste with turmeric in it.

It’s recommended to only do this oral routine once per day. Any additional brushing with turmeric could damage your enamel.

Turmeric is an all-natural teeth whitener that is a healthier alternative than some commercial teeth whitening products. Not only can this ingredient help you whiten your teeth, but it can also prevent gum disease and reduce cavities.

Brushing your teeth is an important part of your oral care. If you’re a coffee drinker, it’s also good to know that you shouldn’t brush your teeth right after drinking coffee.
