Can You Add Essential Oils to Your Humidifier?

A humidifier is a peaceful way to moisturize the air. Essential oils add a wonderful scent and more zen to your space. So, can you add essential oils to your humidifier?

While this duo can work, it’s still better to use your essential oils in a diffuser.

Over time, essential oils can clog a humidifier and damage the machine. They also don’t have a timer, so they don’t pace when oils release into the air well. This process causes heavier amounts of oil to disperse into the area, which could damage your furniture or clothes.

Not to mention, this would void the warranty of your humidifier.

This diffuser is perfect for distributing soothing essential oils in your space for up to 4 hours.

Diffusers heat essential oils before releasing them into the air. This process helps them to better absorb the oil before running it through the machine. If you’re shopping for a new diffuser, look for one with an ETL safety certification seal.

If you decide to add essential oils to your humidifier, limit the amount of oil and time you run your machine to prevent damage.

The bottom line: a humidifier can release essential oils, but a diffuser is a much better option if you want to use aromatherapy.
