Hangers can feel so disposable when you find a broken one in your closet. But what if there were another use for them rather than the trash?

You can transform your broken clothing hangers into storage for smaller items, like your hats or scarves.

Instagram user @tidywithspark crafted this clever DIY hack. It’s simple and easy. All you need are curtain rings with clips and either duct tape or masking tape.

First, slide the curtain rings through the broken portion of the hanger. Use the tape to secure the hanger. Then, clip your hats or scarves to the curtain rings to safely organize your items.

Voila! Your broken hanger is as good as new!

This DIY hack is a great way to keep items out of the landfill and is a crafty way to organize your closet. You can also use this trick with larger items such as bags or belts.

In addition to hangers, there are tons of items you can repurpose in your home rather than tossing them in the trash. Try using empty cardboard tubes for home storage or transforming mesh produce bags into cleaning tools.
