This TikTok Lamp Shade DIY Is So Simple and Cute

Lamp on a night table next to a bed.

TikTok is a fun platform for discovering unique DIY projects and cool upgrades for your home. If you have an old boring lamp shade, update it with this quirky trend.

Give your lamp shade a funky boho makeover by adding some blush feathers to complete the look.

TikTok user @erinderby was looking for a cute way to decorate her daughter’s room. She covered an old lamp shade with ribbon feathers for a fun, whimsical look.

If you have an old lamp shade lying around and want to try this out, all you need is a lint roller, a hot glue gun, a spray bottle, and a cute roll of feather trim.

Start by using the lint roller to clean off any dust or lint that might have collected on the shade. Next, draw a line on the shade with the hot glue and stick on the feathery ribbon trim. Continue layering the ribbon along the shade tightly to ensure you don’t see the lamp shade. Once finished, lightly mist the feathers with water to help with static.

Add these funky feathers to any DIY project for a unique look.

We also recommend using a low-watt light bulb and not leaving the lamp unattended for safety.

This cute DIY lamp shade is a simple and affordable way to add some funky flair to your home! If you’re looking for another fun DIY project, check out lit cloud ceilings to upgrade a bedroom.
