It’s Thanksgiving Day, and you’re in the middle of cooking when you realize you forgot a must-have ingredient. What do you do? Everything is closed—or is it?
There are grocery stores open on Thanksgiving, and while, yes, some of the biggest will be closed, you’ll have options.
If you run out of milk, eggs, bread, or *gasps* macaroni and cheese, here are the stores open on Thanksgiving:
- ACME Markets
- Albertsons
- CTown
- Dollar General
- Fairway Market
- Fresh Market
- FoodMaxx
- HEB
- Kroger
- Meijer
- Safeway
- Sprouts
- Wegmans
- Whole Foods
As for hours of operation, they’ll vary based on location. Be sure to call to ensure you don’t miss your window. Keep in mind that for the most part, places will close early to allow employees to spend time with family and in some cases, prepare for Black Friday.
Of course, it’s important to prep as much as possible for Thanksgiving dinner, but just in case something gets lost or forgotten in all the excitement, rest easy knowing there’s at least a few stores where you can get a can of green beans.
