When it comes to traveling, protecting your fragile items is crucial. The last thing you want is a busted bottle of perfume or bent, broken earrings when you arrive at your dream destination. These items need a little extra cushioning to avoid damage during transit.

Turns out you can pack with dryer lint and keep everything cushioned. And yes, you read that right.

Dryer lint can be a surprisingly effective cushioning material when packing your valuables. Simply collect dryer lint from your machine and add it to the bottom of your toiletry bag. Place your delicate items on top and stuff in more lint to create a protective layer.

Keep all your toiletries safe and organized while on the go.

To prevent scratches, make sure the dryer lint is in contact with all sides of your breakable items. Protect corners, tops, and sides so nothing will snap, crack, or shatter.

This hack is especially useful for those traveling with small pieces like earrings, necklaces, and fragile makeup products. These items can easily get lost, tangled, or broken in transit. With dryer lint, you can keep them safe, secure, and padded.

If you have access to bubble wrap or other packing materials, it’s a great idea to use those as well to protect your valuables and liquids. But next time you’re packing your carry-on, dryer lint can be a great extra cushion.
