Here’s Why Your Swimsuit Looks Stretched Out and Ill-Fitting

Are you tired of buying a new swimsuit every summer because your old ones get saggy and stretched out? What if you could solve this problem by changing up your swimsuit care game?

The solution to maintaining your swimsuit for summer season after summer season could be as simple as drying them correctly. Mainly, avoiding the dryer.

While it might be tempting to throw your swimsuit in the dryer to speed up the drying process, this can actually damage the fabric of your suit and cause it to lose its shape. The excessive heat and tumbling action of the dryer harm the delicate swimwear fabrics.

Always keep things stylish while poolside this summer with this swimsuit cover up.

So, what’s the solution? Hang your swimsuit on a plastic hanger and allow it to air dry instead. While this method may take longer than tumble-drying, you won’t stretch out the spandex or nylon nearly as quickly. This will allow your swimsuit to last much, much longer.

You can also lay your swimsuit somewhere flat to dry if you don’t have a place nearby to hang it. Make sure to avoid metal surfaces that might rust, as that will quickly stain and damage your suit.

If you want to take your swimsuit care to the next level, be sure to rinse your suit in cool water after use to remove chlorine, salt, or sweat that would damage the fabric over time. Avoid using harsh detergents when washing your swimsuit to keep it looking great year after year.
