Is This Amazon Tumbler Better Than the Stanley Tumbler?

People carry the Simple Modern tumbler.
Simple Modern

You’ve seen the now iconic Stanley tumbler. You know, the one with the stainless steel body, large handle, and tapered bottom. Well, there might be an Amazon alternative coming to take its place according to TikTok, and it’s cheaper.

The Simple Modern tumbler is going viral on TikTok thanks to its leaf-proof design, and some are saying it’s even better than the Stanley cup.

Here's your new Stanley alternative.

TikTok content creator Alexandra Lamoreaux put the Stanley and Simple Modern cups to the test. In her video, both cups are filled with water, and the lids are secure. She then holds the Simple Modern on its side, showcasing that no water spills out of the top until she tips it into an upside-down position. The Stanley, however, begins leaking when on its side—something that the Simple Modern does not—prompting Lamoreaux to claim it’s the better of the two.

Outside of being leakproof, though, the Simple Modern has many of the same features as the Stanley. It’s got a tapered bottom that allows you to place it in a car’s cupholder, a comfortable grip handle for easy carrying, and the ability to keep drinks cold for 24 hours.

But of course, there is always the allure of the “real thing.” For those who are Stanley enthusiasts or for those who just love to be on trend, nothing will ever top the original tumbler. While they’re often sold out (and a bit pricier than the Simple Modern), it’s undeniable that they are quality tumblers.

Whether leak-proof capabilities are most important, or you just really want to be a Stanley person like everyone else, one thing both of these will do? Keep you hydrated.
