Movie nights look a little different now thanks to social distancing and the coronavirus. But a new Google Chrome extension can help you stay connected while you watch your fave movies or shows.

Netflix Party is a Google Chrome extension that combines Netflix with a synchronized viewing experience and a chat client. All you and your friends need is a Netflix account, a computer, and the Chrome extension.

To create your own virtual movie (or TV show binge) night, just pick anything on Netflix. (You can even gather around a 4K virtual fireplace.) Click “NP” on the Chrome navigation bar to launch Netflix Party, and then share the provided link with your friends. After they open it on their computers, they can join the chatroom and streaming experience.

If you prefer to use another method of communication (like FaceTime) while you watch, you can turn off the chat bar and still enjoy synced Netflix streams.

With Netflix rolling out weekly releases in addition to its plethora of original content, you won’t run out of stuff to watch during your quarantine.
