Cheese powder meets cheese sauce in the latest junk food collaboration you never knew you needed. For fans, it’s a fusion of comfort and snack foods.
Macaroni and cheese purists who think the noodle and cheese dish should only be made by hand and baked in the oven might want to look away.
PepsiCo has created Cheetos-themed macaroni and cheese in three different flavors, with two different preparation methods.
Fans of the puffy, orange-powder-covered snack can now try its new pasta in Bold and Cheesy, Flamin’ Hot, or Cheesy Jalapeño flavors. You can also choose between a multi-serving, classic stove-top, or individual instant servings.

According to the press release from PepsiCo, the new Cheetos Mac ‘N Cheese was inspired by fans of the snacks. Rachel Ferdinando, senior vice president and chief marketing officer of Frito-Lay North America, said:
“We’ve seen incredible culinary creativity from our Cheetos fans through the years, taking our product and using as (sic) an actual ingredient in recipes—whether at restaurants, or now more than ever, at home. Cheetos Mac ‘n Cheese borrows that culinary inspiration to provide a mischievous mashup of an ordinary fan favorite. We’re putting our orange-dusted fingerprints on an at-home staple at a time when home mealtime occasions are on the rise.”
If you’re up for an adventure and want to try this new hybrid food for yourself, it’s available nationwide at Walmart or online.
