Cloud Bread Is the Viral Recipe Your Kids Will Love

Looking for a new activity to do with your kids while summer’s still in full swing? This TikTok recipe for cloud bread might be just the thing!

The viral sensation got its name from its appearance: a fluffy mound of bread that looks more like meringue than sourdough. It also only requires three ingredients to make, and you can customize the color with your kids.

Here’s what you’ll need:

  • 3 egg whites
  • 2-1/2 tablespoons of white sugar
  • 1 tablespoon of cornstarch

Then, follow these instructions:

  1. Mix the eggs until they start to bubble.
  2. Add the white sugar and cornstarch and mix until stiff peaks start to form.
  3. Plop it on a cookie sheet and bake at 300 degrees Fahrenheit for 25 minutes.

And boom! You have a cloud!

If you want to create the tie-dyed version going viral on Instagram and TikTok, it’s just as easy! Just make batches of the colors you want to use, and then carefully swirl them together before baking.

There are also different flavors. Instagram chefs, Shalean LaBerge and Steph Ghitis of @soflofooodie, combined bright pink and blue with some cotton candy flavoring to create their own blend of cloud bread.

So, if you need a new DIY project for your kiddos, give the world’s easiest and largest meringue cookie (i.e., cloud bread) a shot.
