There’s a Paint Kit That Can Make Your Countertops Look Like Marble

Marble countertops.

For those looking to spruce up their space on a budget, there’s a way to get marble countertops without, well, marble. There’s a marble paint kit that will give your space the same appearance for just a fraction of the cost.

xN Studio owner Nasozi Kakembo took a DIY marble countertop paint kit for a spin and documented the process. The results are incredible. Following along with her countertop journey on social media, you learn that Kakembo originally got an estimate for marble that starting at a whopping $5,000. The paint kit? $200.

The process started with two coats of primer before she went in and added grey-toned veining throughout. She left dry for four hours before it was time to apply the final epoxy coating. Here’s where the catch comes in. Once the epoxy is applied, you can’t use the space for two to seven days. While this project is markedly more affordable, it’s also one you’ll need to plan to do in advance when you can find a second to space to stay.

If, however, you’ve got family you can stay with or some sort of second space, this marble countertop DIY may be worth the time investment.
