Yes, the Big Mac is a classic, but McDonald’s McNuggets aren’t anything to balk at. Now, they’re getting an upgrade. Spicy chicken nuggets are finally coming to the fast-food chain.
On Sept. 16, McDonald’s will introduce its Spicy Chicken McNuggets and Mighty Hot Sauce. The new menu item is for a limited time only, so if you want that extra kick, you’ll want to head to your local chain now.
The restaurant describes the new food as “tempura coated” with breading created from cayenne and chili pepper. If that’s not enough, though, the new sauce can bring the heat. McDonald’s Mighty Hot Sauce features a blend of spicy chilis and crushed red pepper to give that extra oomph you may want. The chain says it’s the hottest sauce they offer—but don’t worry, they’re also launching a delicious Chips Ahoy! packed McFlurry to help you cool your burning tongue.
In a press release, Vice President of Menu Innovation, Linda VanGosen says, “This is the first time we’ve introduced a new flavor of our classic Chicken McNuggets in the U.S. since they came to menus in 1983. As our customers have been asking for Spicy McNuggets for some time now, we couldn’t think of a better time to bring them to our menus. We can’t wait for McNuggets fans to get a taste of these new spicy options.”
