11 Awesome Fall Candles That Aren’t Pumpkin Scented

There’s nothing wrong with the sweet scent of pumpkin, but it’s not the only seasonally appropriate aroma. There are plenty of candles that feature the other wonderful smells associated with autumn.

Let’s be honest: pumpkins don’t really have much of a scent until you carve them, and even then, the smell isn’t fantastic. What you get with pumpkin-scented candles and the like is more of a pumpkin pie, spiced scent—a mix of cinnamon, nutmeg, and ginger.

That does smell wonderful, but the market is so flooded with it, no one will blame you for seeking out other options. Other wonderful fall scents include apples, vanilla, and smokey wood.

It mixes the delicious scents of warm baked apple slices, steaming hot buttermilk waffles, and nutmeg. Sometimes, apple-scented candles can be too “appley,” but the other fragrant notes here balance this one out perfectly.

The large, double-wick jars from DW Home are another of our personal favorites. They last forever—we’re talking weeks or months, depending on how often you light them. The scents are also wonderfully unique.

Yankee Candles are classics because the jars are huge and the scents are always wonderful. They’re also affordable and you can find them basically anywhere. While they come in a wide array of fall scents, Autumn Wreath is one of the all-time best.

It’s smells like autumn leaves and cinnamon apples. It’s kind of a spicy scent that will make your home feel warmer and cozier.

If you grew up in a town where football was huge, then Friday night games throughout the fall were probably the norm. Homesick creates candles that are meant to embody specific places, so you can remember them no matter where you are. And, weirdly, its Friday Night Football candle does just that!
