Iced coffee lovers know that adding ice cubes to hot coffee is a recipe for disaster. Not only does it make the coffee taste bitter, but it waters it down. Thankfully, there’s a viral iced coffee hack that can help.

For this trick—created by TikTok user @Katielopynski—you will need to plan ahead. To keep her coffee fresh, she takes brewed coffee and freezes it into ice cubes. She then adds the cubes into a glass cup and pours oat milk over top—but you can use whatever dairy or non-dairy items you’d like. While the cup is milky at first, as the coffee melts, it becomes a creamy coffee drink that hasn’t lost its coffee taste.

Katie is far from the only social media user to discover a useful food hack, though. TikTok, in particular, is full of food hacks and recipes that may shock you. From the sugar rush of an Oreo-stuffed Halloween sugar cookie to how to quickly ripen an avocado, the video-sharing platform is a surprisingly good place to find fixes to common kitchen ailments.

If one of yours is watering down your iced coffee, TikTok may have just helped.
