These Are the Most Haunted States

Every state likely has at least one location that’s said to be haunted, but it turns out, some are more creepy than others. The most haunted states in America, though, may not be the ones you imagine.

If you had to guess which states have the most paranormal activity, you may choose Louisianna thanks to New Orleans or a state like Georgia or a Carolina due to deaths from the Civil War, but neither of those would be correct. Instead, it’s actually California and Texas that top the list.

Website SlotSource.com compiled the list, but if you’re thinking that seems odd, don’t worry. They used the data from Ghosts of America to create the lists. Ghosts of America compiles the number of paranormal sightings in all 50 states, and California and Texas have both seen over 6,000 sightings since 2005. While the site doesn’t pinpoint specific homes or locations as being haunted, visiting these states could increase your chance of having your very own ghostly sighting.

If you’re a thrill-seeker, maybe shift that trip to New Orleans to Austin. For the full list, you can check out SlotSource.com
