Cocoa Bombs Are Winter’s Next Big Drink

Move over, Peppermint Mocha. There’s a new must-have winter drink: cocoa bombs.

Before you get worried, there’s no sort of chocolate explosion that’ll have you cleaning your kitchen until midnight. Instead, these “bombs” are actually a soothing alternative to the traditional hot cocoa mix (or Starbucks drive-thru) you may be used to. The cocoa is actually a large ball of chocolate that you plop into an empty mug. Once deposited, you pour hot milk over the top to melt, melting the chocolate down. Once it cracks open, marshmallows are released leaving you with the perfect cup of hot cocoa.

They’re now everywhere on social media.

Business Love Meets Sugar, run by Cathy Ortiz, makes these chocolate bombs, and her videos of them have gone viral. From peanut butter cup flavors to Halloween-themes, Ortiz’s cocoa bomb videos are must-see. She’s not alone. TikTok users are scooping up these goodies and recording their own clips for the platform, and all of these are ultra-soothing to watch.

To whether you just need some relaxing content or you’re looking to try something new this holiday season, cocoa bombs may be it.
