If you’ve ever headed out for Black Friday or last-minute shopping on Christmas Eve, you’ve likely experienced the excessively long lines to enter stores and check out. This year, though, Target’s shopping appointments will help you avoid all of that.
With capacity limits in place at most stores due to COVID-19, wait times to get inside will likely be longer during the holidays. However, Target is working to eliminate some of the inconvenience with its new appointment system.
To use the service, you just look up your local store online to see if there’s a wait at the door. If there is, you can save your place in line by scheduling an appointment. Then, simply show up at that time and shop—no waiting required!
In addition to appointments, Target is also introducing contactless payment, which allows customers to scan their own items and pay via the store’s app. There will also be more options to pay a store associate—Target has given its employees 1,000 handheld devices to assist with checkouts and reduce lines.
So, if you’re planning to shop at Target this holiday season, the experience will hopefully be as safe, easy, and line-free as possible.
