You Can Make a Gingerbread Turkey with Your Kids This Year

For some, November marks the start of the Christmas season. Others, however, are adamant about celebrating Thanksgiving properly first. If you fall into the latter camp, Trader Joe’s Gingerbread Turkey Kit is the perfect way to celebrate with the kids.

The kits have been posted on Instagram (by @traderjolene), and they’re just as cute as those M&M haunted houses that popped up for Halloween. The kits feature four prebaked cookies shaped like turkeys. You can decorate them with the icing, sprinkles, and bits of candy that come inside.

These aren’t your usual flat cookies, either; like a gingerbread house, they stand upright. The cookies have a base, a body, and that famous turkey plumage for a more 3D look.

You’ll have to head to your local Trader Joe’s to see if the kits are available. But if you want to celebrate Thanksgiving for at least a week or two before moving on to Christmas, these turkey gingerbreads make a great family activity.
