Target lovers are about to have even more beauty products to shop. Ulta Beauty is opening in Target stores come 2021.
Both Target and Ulta are beauty havens for shoppers. Each offers a range of products from hair to makeup to skin at various price points. The introduction of Ulta sections inside Target, however, opens up a new arena for the big-box retailer. While Target already has a wide selection of beauty, Ulta will bring in more high-end brands as well as newly trained staff members to help shoppers find the correct products for them.
The rollout is set to begin in 2021 — though no exact date was given — and will start with 100 stores nationwide. Over time, this number will expand. If you’re concerned about these new Ulta sections lessening the number of affordable options or meaning the removal of your favorite brands, don’t be. The partnership is designed to complement and expand Target’s offerings, not compete with them.
Of the new shop-in-shop model, Brian Cornell, chairman and CEO, Target says in a press release, “The durable strategy we have built has made Target a top retail destination. The ease and convenience of our stores and fulfillment services provide broad reach and relevance for the curated brands our guests love. In partnership with Ulta Beauty, a company that shares our deep guest focus, we are able to expand our growing beauty business with new, exciting brands, an immersive experience, and loyalty benefits to transform how our guests shop for all their beauty needs.”
Come 2021, you may just need to watch your wallet even more closely when you head into a Target.
