Bill Nye’s Pizza Dough Hack Is a Must-Watch

Bill Nye makes a pizza dough with water, sugar, yeast, a water bottle, and a balloon.

Bill Nye can now add “viral pizza maker” to his resume. The scientist known for his iconic ’90s-era TV series has gone viral on TikTok thanks to some scientific pizza dough.

In one of his latest TikTok videos, Nye used just three ingredients, a balloon, and a water bottle to make the dough for one delicious-looking pizza. He begins the video by adding sugar and warm water to the bottle, and then shaking it so the sugar dissolves. He then adds a few teaspoons of yeast and places a balloon over the bottle as a sort of lid.

In a few moments, the mixture starts to rise and form a dough. Nye then dumps said dough into a bowl and allows it to rise more before forming it into a pizza crust. He then adds toppings and bakes it. The result? A delicious-looking pizza, with an equally perfect-looking crust.

While Nye’s pizza dough takes more of a scientific turn, including an explanation of how carbon dioxide collects inside the balloon, he’s definitely not the only person on TikTok with a few food hacks up his sleeve.

You can find shortcuts on everything from how best to preserve your avocados and unique ways to cook steaks, to making Reese’s cups in a mug.

So, next time you’re looking for an easy food hack, head over to TikTok.
