If you’ve ever built a gingerbread house, you know things don’t always go as planned. Making them look like they do on the packaging can be difficult, but not everyone has this problem. The winners of the National Gingerbread House Competition have proven you can construct a next-level home out of the fave holiday treat.
This year, the competition had to go virtual, but it received over 100 entries in all age brackets. Typically, the event is held at the Omni Grove Park Inn in Asheville, North Carolina. While the virtual competition might have been a bummer for those looking forward to traveling, those who can’t usually attend had it made this year.
You can see all of the finalists on Instagram, including the winner.
The winners offered a new outlook on a gingerbread house by showcasing the inside of Santa’s fictional décor shop. The creation features the man himself visiting with children, customers, and some seriously detailed garlands and wallpaper.
