Money Trees Are Coming to ALDI

A money tree against a bright background.

If your 2021 goal is to become a plant parent, you’re in luck. The money tree is coming to ALDI, and this houseplant is basically unkillable.

You’ve likely already heard of a money tree even if you just have a passing interest in getting a houseplant or a friend with a veritable garden in their home. They’re said to be symbols of good luck thanks to their five-prong leaves, which are tied to the five elements of feng shui. As a result, they’re often given as gifts, but it’s not just the plants’ luck that makes them popular. They’re also ultra-easy to grow and keep alive. And they’re coming to ALDI.

Starting in January, you’ll be able to get your own money tree for just $7.99 at the retailer. If you love ALDI’s fun grocery selections and miscellaneous items, add this one to your list for your next trip come 2021.

As for caring for your new money tree, it will need sunlight but not direct light, and temperatures around it can range from 40-90 degrees Fahrenheit. Watering it is pretty simple, too. Just water the plant until the water comes out of the drainage holes. Then, wait until the top two to four inches of soil have completely dried out. That’s it. You’re on your way to being an official plant parent.
