Maybe baking bread was the hobby you picked up in 2020, or perhaps you made some dalgona coffee. However, if you spent a lot more time gardening last year, you definitely weren’t alone. And the trend is set to return for 2021, especially when it comes to food gardens.
Garden Media Group looked at trends within the gardening world for 2020 and found that the number of people looking to create their own at-home plant life was between a whopping 18-24 million.
Better Homes & Gardens spoke with Mike Sutterer, CEO at Bonnie Plants, who said growing your own food will be the trend for many who are returning to gardening, even after the original pandemic boom reported by Garden Media Group.
According to Sutterer, part of the appeal of growing your own food is not only eating it yourself, but also taking it to local food pantries to give back to the community.
If you already grow your own dinner, be sure to check out the other gardening trends can you take advantage of over at Better Homes & Gardens.
