McDonald’s just released a new one, Popeye’s has a famous one, and now KFC is launching a new version of a classic—the chicken sandwich wars are officially on!
The upgraded version of Kentucky Fried Chicken’s classic chicken sandwich features a quarter-pound, double-breaded, extra-crispy chicken breast filet, on a buttered brioche bun, with thicker pickles and the chain’s own mayo or spicy sauce.
You can get the sandwich for $3.99 or as a meal for $6.99. It’s available in select KFC locations now, but by the end of February, it’ll be up for grabs at all 4,000 locations nationwide.
“We tested the new KFC Chicken Sandwich in Orlando last spring, and we nearly doubled our sales expectations,” said Andrea Zahumensky, chief marketing officer of KFC U.S., in a press release. “So, we knew that we had a winner. Many customers hadn’t considered KFC as a part of the chicken sandwich conversation, but anyone who tastes this sandwich will know, without a doubt, that we’re playing to win.”
Which restaurant will be victorious in the chicken sandwich wars? Well, that’s up to you!
