If you were gifted a caddy and some relaxing lighting to make your bath time more relaxing, we’re so sorry. Those great gifts are about to be eclipsed by this $16,000 smart bathtub.
Kohler has introduced the Stillness tub: a smart bath featuring everything from steam and lights to a moat. (Yes, a moat.) The tub debuted at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES), an event that previews upcoming innovations.
The tub is available in two versions: the stand-alone and infinity. It’s the infinity that will blow your mind. Not only does it fill to the brim (and from the bottom, eliminating the need for a faucet), but it’s also installed with an hinoki wood grate that allows the overflow to drain and still look chic.
Just add some aromatherapy accessories, essential oils, and ambient lighting, and your bathroom will basically be a spa.
The kick, however, is the price tag. The infinity version of the tub retails for a cool $16,000. While the stand-alone version is less expensive, it’s still a smart tub, so pricing starts around $6,000.
If you’ve recently won the lottery or been saving to invest in a mega-bathroom, the tubs will be available later this year.
