Of course, your dog is perfect, but have you ever wondered how popular his particular breed is? Well, now you can find out because a website has compiled the results.
U.K.-based website, Household Quotes, used Google search data to determine the most popular dogs across the globe and found that the overall winner was (drumroll, please) the Rottweiler! The breed topped the list in 34 countries, including most of Northern South America and Northern Africa.
While the Rotty might have taken the top prize, in terms of overall searches, the Australian Shepherd came out on top. The latter was also the most popular pup in the U.S., with nearly half a million searches per month.
If you’re on the hunt for a new furbaby, finding out which breeds are most popular might be a good starting point. You can also check out other data, like which pups are the calmest. According to Marissa Sunny, a certified professional dog trainer, if you want a more relaxed cuddler, you should avoid the working and herding breeds, like the popular Aussie. Choose a pup like the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, instead.
