For those who look forward to National Pancake Day at IHOP every year, we have some good news and some bad news. The bad news is, well, the event has been canceled. But the good news is you can still get a free short stack this year!
The chain was forced to cancel the annual, one-day-only event this year to keep both its patrons and staff safe. Given the crowds that typically hit their local IHOP for a free short stack of pancakes every year, it just wasn’t feasible at this time.
But that doesn’t mean you can’t still get your pancake fix. Instead of the one-day, in-person extravaganza, IHOP is offering its customers an IOU for all of April. All you have to do to get your stack is sign up for the MyHOP email club by March 30.
Starting April 1, the IOU coupons will start showing up in inboxes or on the IHOP app. A minimum purchase of $10 is required, but you can redeem your IOU in the app or on the IHOP website. The brand is also asking customers to continue the tradition of National Pancake Day by donating $1 or more to Shriner’s Hospitals for Children.
If you’d rather wait until next year when you can hit the IHOP in person, you still don’t have to skip National Pancake Day—make your own at home!
