This Storage Method Will Keep Your Bread Fresh Longer

If you’ve ever lost a perfectly good loaf of bread to mold, you might be wondering what you did wrong. It could all come down to your storage method.

Turns out, the best way to store fresh loaves isn’t a bread box, but a drawer! You don’t have to throw out your box, but not only will a drawer keep your bread fresher, longer, but it’ll also free up more counter space.

If you’re happy with your current amount of counter space, you can stick with your bread box. However, if you need more meal-prep space, a drawer is the perfect solution.

On Instagram, @lifeaccording2lisa showcased her bread drawer, which features a Rev-a-Shelf cover. The clear plastic, slidable topper protects your bread and can be customized to fit any drawer. Not only will this keep that yeasty smell inside, but it’ll also lock out moisture. For that same reason, it’s probably not a good idea to use the drawer right next to the dishwasher to store your bread.

You can also opt for a single holder that you can slide into a drawer.

If you use a drawer, you might also increase your storage space. Bread boxes can only hold so many loaves, but if you have a particularly deep drawer, it can hold a lot of yeasty goodness.

And don’t forget, you can also store any bread you bake yourself in your new bread drawer.
