If you’ve been looking to sell your home, you likely already know the importance of curb appeal. According to one real estate agent, this small addition to your landscaping will ensure that you’ve got it.

Ricardo Mello, cofounder and managing partner of Manhattan Miami Real Estate, told  Gardeningetc. that a home that blends in with its landscaping actually wards off potential buyers. While monochromatic might be ideal for your home’s interior, the opposite is actually true with landscaping.

Mello recommends adding pops of color to your outdoor space with some perennial flowers. This one small step can add some serious vibrancy to your yard. If you’re new to gardening and worried about planting flowers yourself, you can buy pre-planted baskets at any home improvement store.

There are lots of other simple things you can do to spruce up your landscaping. From solar-powered walkway lights to adding a few accessories to your porch, you don’t have to be intimidated by planting.

Having trouble selling your home? Here’s another quick and easy way to add more curb appeal.
