Do you bake your bacon, or are you committed to the skillet? A new way to prepare the ever-popular breakfast side is going viral on TikTok, and it looks pretty promising (and tasty).

Known as “twisted bacon,” this food hack seems to have come from Abby Durlewanger (@HouseofKeto on TikTok), and the method is pretty much exactly what it sounds like. To make twisted bacon, you, um, twist your bacon.

To be more specific, you just hold each piece of bacon at the bottom, then twirl it from the top until it’s a twisted wand of meat. Then, place it on a baking sheet with foil and bake as you normally would.

Durlewanger adds some Everything But the Bagel seasoning, but that’s optional. The result is an ultra-crunchy batch of bacon that isn’t burnt and still retains some chewy bits within the spirals.

In her follow-up clips, Durlewanger shares a few hacks for customizing your twisted bacon sticks. For example, if you like chewier bacon, make your twist a bit looser. For those who love some extra crunch, wrap it tightly.

Crunchier bacon will need to be baked a bit longer—Durlewanger recommends 40 minutes at 400 degrees Fahrenheit.
