So far, 2021 bathroom trends include bolder colors and the resurgence of the medicine cabinet. But which features are on their way out?
Kerry Vasquez, owner of Kerry Vasquez Design, pointed out some formerly popular bathroom features that homeowners appear to be steering away from.
One of these is the tub/shower combo, which has been a staple of bathrooms for ages. You’ll find this versatile option in most homes and apartments. When it comes to redesigning and customizing a home, though, it seems many are no longer interested in having both features.
Vasquez told Hunker that a “luxe walk-in shower or gorgeous freestanding tub” is the way clients are going.
But that’s not the only feature predicted to disappear. The rectangular subway tile that was so popular on many HGTV shows also appears to be falling by the wayside. Vasquez said people are now looking for different shapes and finish options.
