If you’ve been itching to get back to traveling safely, LEGO has the perfect set for you. There’s now an entire map of the world from LEGO, and you can even track your journeys with it.
For LEGO fans, the set marks a major milestone. It contains the most pieces ever, clocking in at 11,695 elements that combine to create a 2D map of the Earth. However, unlike a standard map of the world, you can customize this one.
The set is comprised of 40 interconnecting base plates divided into three different sections. You can arrange the sections to place your favorite part of the world in the center. Then, once those are put together, builders can utilize special brick pushpins to mark their favorite destinations. You can also arrange multicolored tiles within the oceans to craft currents or reefs.
Along with the customizable features, there’s also a soundtrack that you can access by scanning a QR code with your phone. There, you’ll find travel stories from bloggers. You’ll also get a coffee table book, frame, and two pieces to help you hang your completed map.
The LEGO Art World Map launched on June 1, but unfortunately, it’s already on backorder. You can still place your order on the LEGO website, though, and your map will ship as soon as it’s back in stock. If you don’t have the $249.99 at the moment, you can also sign up to receive an email notification when the map is back in stock.
In the meantime, Friends fans might want to try to build this new LEGO set of the show’s famous apartments.
