Welcome Chili’s to the Chicken Sandwich Wars

The chicken sandwich wars rage on as yet another restaurant adds a new poultry item to its menu. This time, though, it’s not fast food.

Following Red Lobster’s example, Chili’s has now waded into the dangerous bucket of fried chicken. The brand has crafted a new Chili’s Chicken Sandwich. While the moniker might not be as clever as Burger King’s Ch’King, it’s simple, yet effective.

The sandwich comes on a toasted, buttered brioche bun and features a hand-battered, breaded fried chicken breast with lettuce, tomato, and the brand’s “Secret Sauce.”

If you want to try this latest entrant into the battle, though, you’ll need to be a member of the My Chili’s Rewards program. No worries if you aren’t yet, though—you can sign up here. After you do, you’ll be able to purchase the sandwich (and the included side of fries) at the restaurant or order it for pickup or delivery at your local restaurant.

The new item is part of Chili’s 3 for $10 menu, which allows you to choose a beverage, an appetizer, and an entrée for just $10.

Michael Breed, vice president of marketing at Chili’s, said in a press release that the brand has been perfecting the new sandwich for quite some time.

“We’ve been testing a chicken sandwich and our new Secret Sauce for over a year to ensure we give our guests the perfect bite,” Breed said.

The sandwich is available now through June 30.

If you want to try something truly unique, be sure to look for Pringles and Wendy’s new chicken sandwich chips at your local grocery store.
