Here’s How to Cool Your Beers, Seltzers, and Sodas Quickly

Having a cookout but forgot to chill the drinks? Well, we have good news—there’s an easy way to cool those beers, seltzers, and sodas quickly.

All you need for this quick-chill hack is a roll of paper towels, some water, and your freezer. Just dampen (don’t soak) some paper towels, and then wrap them around the cans or bottles that you want to cool.

Once wrapped, put them in the freezer for 10-15 minutes. The water on the paper towels will evaporate and freeze, encasing the drinks in a layer of ice. They’ll get cool much faster than they would in the fridge.

Toss those drinks into a cooler to help them stay chilled.

This also works if you’re heading to the beach, lake, or park for the Fourth of July with a cooler. Just add some salt to the ice. It lowers the freezing point and melts the ice just a bit, so the paper towels can wrap around the bottles more easily.

So, whether you forgot to toss Dad’s favorite beer in the fridge or your kids’ sodas are still sitting on the counter next to the cooler, don’t sweat it! Just grab that roll of paper towels as part of your beach day must-haves.
